The newest batch of Hogwarts students have entered this historic school and no one knows how their future will turn out - will you be a quidditch pro or maybe a prefect? The year is now 2021, and now it's time for the next generation to make their mark. The newest batch of Hogwarts students have entered this historic school and no one knows how their future will turn out - and that is where the fun begins.
The plot will be determined by the characters of the site as of now - future plots will change as these forces weigh in on the Wizarding World, and we see where these characters take us. So join in and let your character make their mark!
Minimum word count is 200.
1) RESPECT. Respect. Respect. Respect others and do not say anything sexist, racist, etc. Anyone found breaking this rule will be banned for as long as deemed fit. Whether it is staff or other members, this is a safe place for everyone and those found to be a problem will be removed without a warning.
3) IN OOC, we do ask that you use the name you want to go by. It can be your character's name, your name, or a fake name. We don't check, nor do we care; whatever you prefer goes. Also, if there are specific pronouns you go by, please inform others. We don't have a place to display it so it is up to you to make it known if you want people to be specific.
4) RESPECT ALL ADMINS OR MODS. They are chosen for a reason. If you do not like something one does, you may only talk to ME about it and I'll see what can be done. All Mods are chosen by me and they are given out to those I feel deserve it. Do not ask me to be a mod or admin, the answer is no.
5) THE CBOX RULES are simple: no hate, no inappropriate messages to members or staff, and no spam. If you have a problem with me, another member, or the site in general, message ME ONLY. For now, anyone found saying mean or hateful things directed at someone will be banned. Spam is a auto ban, and there should be no advertising or promotion in it without my permission.
6) This is expected to be a mature environment meaning that there will be swearing (IC and OOC); if you are uncomfortable with that please understand that it is not up to staff to regulate it. Action will only be taken if the profanity is being used at other members.
IC RULES
1) Keep all material PG-16 or lower. There will be no M content allowed on the site. It can lead up to it, but it has to 'fade to black'. If you want your character to have a kid, you will have to apply for it. All children need to approved by me. The child, when approved, can be played out on a parent(s) account.
2) No god-modding whatsoever. Anyone caught god-modding will be banned after one warning.
3) Anything found to be sexist, racist, etc. in a post will result in a warning or being banned as seem fit by the staff.
4) Drama is welcomed here as long as it's allowed by the other person. Please feel free to use the Cbox as a planning area along with plot pages and private messaging. Keep in mind that it is your job to talk to other members about plots, not staff.
5) The word count minimum for the site is 200 words, though we do promote longer posts. This is a intermediate-experience RP level and we expect the posts to reflect that. Please use correct grammar/spelling. Minor mistakes are okay (we all do them), but please double-check before posting.
6) All posts are to be in third person.
7) Please only post in as many threads as you can handle at a time. We like to keep things moving and over working threads is not good for mental health. We do expect at least one post every two weeks to stay active, unless you have posted in the Absences board to explain your inactivity. Posting in this board will keep your characters safe from being made inactive, as absence notices will always be taken into consideration by admins.
8) For all duels or fights please remember there is no god modding allowed. In order to follow in this rule you have a few options: either plotting out the duel with the fellow member(s) so that all parties are fully aware of how things will be enacted; or by making sure that nothing is explained fully (E.g. your character throwing a spell with a description of said spell, while the other character decides if it hits and if so what effect that has on the character).
9) Adults and students both have duties (jobs, studies, etc.) so please make sure that your character is keeping up with their responsibilities. Whether it be a student forgetting their homework or a elected official doing their job it is important that they remember what they need to do.
10) Please use correct grammar/spelling. Minor mistakes are okay (it happens to all of us), but please double-check your posts before clicking 'Create post'.
CHARACTER RULES
1) There is no character limit, however you must be active with all your characters. Inactivity can result in issues with staff and your character as being locked as inactive. HOWEVER, the staff do not want one person controlling several big name canons (Albus, Scorpius, Rose, etc). So be aware that if staff thinks you have too many already, we will ask you not take another. There are too many smaller canons and OC's to have fun with!
2) Your character application must be FULLY completed and accepted before you may post in claims/requests or any in-character boards.
3) Once your character is accepted, you're REQUIRED to post in all the Claims.
4) Seeing as Proboards is a +13 website, that means will we will not be accepting character under the age of 13 (3rd years). This also means we will not accept Face Claims that are under that age as well.
5) Your character must have a face claim who is a celebrity, meaning that they are well known; this means actors, singers, models, etc. We do not allow random people, anime faces or social media stars. If you have questions about if certain fc's fall into these categories, feel free to ask staff; we are often willing to work with your choices.
6) There will be no Mary-Sues or Gary Stus on this site, and this will be addressed during the application process if we have any concerns or issues, Also make sure that you know your character and stick to what personality you created for them. We obviously welcome character development, but we also value consistency. For example, if your character has a fear of water they will not be diving head first into the deep ocean anytime soon, etc.
7) Established Canon is the canon that this site runs off of - so when creating canon, oc or wanted ad characters make sure that you are following that canon. What plots/characterisations our current members have already decided on shouldn't be compromised if you're creating new characters to fit into that. If you need clarification ask either site staff or that member directly!
8) You can register your character under any name, but you must change their display name to First Middle Last as soon as you are able.
THREAD RULES
1) Please do not over-commit on threads. Only have as many as you can handle.
2) Please don't comment on 'dead' threads or private threads (which are marked with a character's name in it). Always ask before joining a thread unless it is titled open.
IMAGE RULES
As stated earlier, you do need a FC, and your FC needs to be in your profile images. Required for the site is a:
Square image avatar, at least 150x150
a 250x400 image for your mini profile. This profile WILL NOT hover on post if you do not have your own image.
Signatures are optional but always welcome. However they can not be bigger that 500x500 pixels as it will mess with the sites coding.
ACTIVITY POLICY
1) This policy only applies to people who have not notified staff about their absence and/or posted in the absences board.
2) When your character is deemed inactive, the following will happen:
Your application will be moved to the Graveyard.
Your spot in the canon will open up.
Your Face Claim is up for grabs again.
FLEX ACCOUNTS
These are members' personal accounts which you are automatically entitled to create should you have more than one character. You can personalise your account as you wish, and it will become the account that staff will primarily contact you through.
The use of your flex account is allowed and encouraged in plotters/thread trackers/the OOC board and threads/and the Sandbox (which is our creative hub for expanding the characters from the Hell Hath No Fury universe and beyond). We ask that you refrain from posting IC posts/threads with your Flex Accounts, and keep these to your relevant character accounts.
The point of these accounts is to keep a personal touch to the site, getting to know the authors behind the characters, and to cultivate a fun and creative community.
Once you've created your account, fill out the form here to have your account moved to the correct member group.
And even if you only have the one character, don't despair - we won't be discriminating solely on numbers, and if you're a proven active member of the site, DM a member of staff, and we're sure we'll be able to figure something out.
DISCLAIMER
Rules are constantly changing and up to the judgment of admins on how to handle situations. This is always done for the good of the site and please understand that we are all here to have fun!
