Molly Weasley asked, grinning at the crying boy in her daughter-in-law's arms. Ron and Hermione had a hard time agreeing on a name. They spent the last nine months arguing about what it would be. They finally compromised when they saw their son for the first time. Bright red hair, blue eyes. He was the spitting image of his father, a Weasley through and through. Ron finally looked up at his mother. "Hugo Arthur Weasley," he answered, taking the newborn from his wife, stopping the boy's crying instantly. That was pretty much the way things were from then on. He went to his father for everything. As he got older, it was apparent to everyone that Hugo was a Daddy's boy. He looked up to his father. There was really no one that Hugo loved more than him. The two could hold conversations about Quidditch for hours, trying to figure out why the Chudley Cannons lost their last game. Partly because of these conversations, partly because of all the games his father took him to, Hugo became a huge fan of the sport. He started asking for his own broom since he was six years old, though his mother was against him learning to fly so young. Hugo got his first broom for his eighth birthday. He spent hours on it, getting advice from his father and uncles as he tried to learn how to control it. He did fall off a few times, though he wasn't seriously injured... for the most part anyway. His worst injury came two days later. He was flying a little higher than usual, his father yelling at him to come down a little, when the broom bucked him off. He broke his arm and was instantly rushed to St. Mungo's. The Healers had him fixed up in no time. While his parents talked to the Healer, Hugo wandered off. He eventually found himself in the tea room, where he sat down with a man, who was sitting by himself. The two talked until his mother found him and he was forced to leave. "What have I told you about talking to strangers?" she said, as they walked off. "But, Mum, he's not a stranger. He's my friend. His name is..." That was Hugo, though. He just liked people and while his mum warned him against it, he didn't see any reason why he couldn't become friends with strangers, even if they were much older than he was. He just wanted to be friends with everyone and never really understood why his parents were against it. He wasted no time in getting back on the broom. As time went on, he got better and better. He improved so much that he was even able to start participating in the family Quidditch games that were held whenever the entire Weasley/Potter clan got together. He usually played keeper, which he liked well enough, but was able to play beater once and instantly fell in love with it. That was the position for him and he never wanted to play any other position. As time got closer for him to join his older sister at Hogwarts, he became more and more interested in what house he would get and he wasn't the only one. He overheard the conversations his parents would have with each other or other family members. His father insisted he was a born Gryffindor and a few people agreed with him. He was a Weasley, after all. Gryffindor was the family house. His mother disagreed, saying he would be a Hufflepuff instead. He was far too kind for the hat to even consider anything else. He decided he would be a Gryffindor, even if he didn't fit in. He didn't want to disappoint his father, so he would do all he could to convince the hat to place him in the family house. the next adventure When Hugo's name was called, he sat on the stool and instantly thought Gryffindor. The hat paid him no mind, though. It screamed Hufflepuff just seconds after being placed on his head. As he joined the cheering table, all he could think about was his father's response when he found out what house he'd gotten into. There really wasn't a reason to be nervous, though. He received a letter for his parents the next day, telling him that they were proud of him, regardless of his house. He made a lot of friends in Hufflepuff, though. He started a conversation with people as soon as he sat down and he had new friends by the time the start of term feast was over. The rest of the school year wasn't that easy, though. Hugo struggled in some of his classes, with transfiguration, defense against the dark arts and history of magic being the worst classes for him. He became easily confused during those classes, unable to really understand what was being taught to them. Because of this, a lot of students started making fun of him for it, calling him an idiot and wondering aloud, every time they saw him, how Hermione Granger could have a kid so stupid. He ended up having to work with tutors in order to properly pass those classes. The highlight of the year was, of course, Quidditch. Hugo looked forward to those games, attending every single one, no matter who was playing. It turned out to be a great way to make friends in other houses and to see the strategies of the other teams. He longed to join them and couldn't wait until he could try out. He didn't like that first years were rarely accepted, as he felt that they could play just as well, if not better, than some of the older kids. Second and third year were about the same. Nothing much really happened. He continued to struggle in courses, dealt with his bullies and attended every single Quidditch match. Hugo continued to make friends and had no problems going up to first year students to offer help in finding their way around the castle. Helping them out was a great way for him to keep busy when there wasn't much else going on. Fourth year was when he finally got his chance. He tried out for the team once again. His flying skills improved some over the summer and he felt like he had a pretty good chance to be on the team. Apparently, the captain thought he improved too. He finally made the Quidditch team as a beater. Due to Quidditch games and practices, he was busier than ever. He did his best to balance everything, but it was really difficult. His schoolwork suffered even more, though he did manage to bring them up enough to move up. There was a bit more going on the next year. In addition to Quidditch, schoolwork and spending time with friends and family, he also began dating. Hugo had known he was gay for a few years, though he never came out to anyone. In fact, he still has never actually said it. It just became common knowledge after he showed no interest in girls. He had two boyfriends that year, though neither were very serious. Both relationships only lasted a few months, with the second one lasting a little longer than the first. Currently, he's a sixth year at Hogwarts and looking forward to finally being done with school, though he isn't too sure what he'll do once he graduates.
