[attr="class","nuprscroll"]Fostered by the Victor family then adopted Hogwarts and the world at large, Toby is your average people-pleasing Hufflepuff seventh year - although maybe on slightly less sleep. He's simultaneously trying to do well enough in his schoolwork that he can do what he wants when he leaves Hogwarts, and make the most of the rest of his time there.
Time is maybe the key factor here - good luck convincing Toby to take a breath between responsibilities - but everything that Toby's signed up for, he'll throw himself into wholeheartedly. This overenthusiasm doesn't always serve him well, as he can find himself getting sidetracked, and with that many balls in the air, it's all too easy to accidentally let one drop. This does mean he meets a lot of people though - between prefect duties, his (possibly too many) classes, and most importantly Wizards For A Better World, a lot of students and professors will cross Toby's path (however briefly), and he's open to interacting with them all.
Toby's time is open to pretty much anyone, which kind of means he doesn't have much of it. He tries his best to be kind to everyone and is desperately loyal to those closest to him - although don't think for a second that this will mean he doesn't call them out on their crap. When it comes to anyone though, there are some things that are inexcusable: Toby's got no time for meanness, hypocrisy, or discrimination of any kind.
As a side note: he's a big supporter of all his friends who play Quidditch, but personally has no interest whatsoever in a game where the balls are actively trying to hurt you. You'll find him in the stands.
Getting Liv to trust, let alone like, anyone at all is something of a minefield. Burnt as a kid by her older sister dying, and then later by her parents' rejection, she doesn't hugely see the point in opening herself up to anyone beyond Lisa, who's been there all along.
Having said that, she doesn't mind spending time with other people, particularly those willing to respect her "don't ask don't tell" policy - which applies to talking about her feelings, not her sexuality (or her thesis).
Since she started at Hogwarts, Liv's approach to people has changed in two ways. Firstly, she's inherited a detestation of those who misuse the library from her predecessor Pince, and secondly, she's started to appreciate that maybe having other friends wouldn't be quite so awful. After all, the Hog's Head is a little nicer with company.
[attr="class","nuprscroll"]The youngest child of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour, and their only son, Louis has a pretty strong idea of his own worth. While mostly content on his own, he doesn't dislike being around other people (they can be quite amusing), and while snobby isn't actively mean.
He’s always been part of a big family, with cousins on both sides, but Louis has never particularly struggled with feeling left out. Self-assured enough to know that everyone he needs will come to him, Louis takes a fairly relaxed approach to life for the most part, and while never far from a casual debate, can rarely bring himself to care about anything enough for an argument.
Louis is a natural charmer, who may be frustrated (or at least confused) by people who don’t think he’s great. He’s not keen on not being the centre of attention, or at the very least in the centre’s vicinity.
He can often be found on the Quidditch pitch, outside with a bottle glass of wine, or in the Ravenclaw common room with a book of poetry. Or at a party. You know, if the mood strikes.
[attr="class","nuprscroll"]Zaira would, if asked, describe herself as someone who likes people in general. By this what she really means is that she'll talk to anyone and fling herself into any opportunity she can. Will she like the people she speaks to or will she scorn them for being idiots? Both are just as likely.
Zaira is very passionate about the fistful of things she's decided she cares about: right now that's Quidditch, furthering the cause her parents fought for, and understanding the magic of mortality. If you get her started on any of these things she could go on for ages, and she'll probably love you if you care about them half as much as she does.
On that note, Zaira is quick to judge and reluctant to change. Once you're in her good or bad books you're pretty much there to stay. Oh, and one more thing - Dean and Seamus raised this half-blood mixed race daughter of two men to be able to defend herself. Which means Zaira is pretty confident with her fists, her wand, and her mouth if necessary. Make of that what you will.
Dom has a platonic obsession with you, Toby. Please placate her and let her have long and deep political discussions with you.
Jasper M. Kirke && Tobin "Toby" Hugo THEM PUFF BOOIIIIISSS. Jasper is so soft and sweet and such a Good Boy, I feel like these two compassionate souls will get along just great. Jasper thinks it is kind of hilarious that Toby is prefect, but then, of course he is bc Jasper sees him as a guy who really has his shit together (unlike him and Christian, who are kind of endearing messes). Me and spoons have chatted and we 100% need a 7th year puff boys thread with Jasper, Toby, Christian George Fraser & @fransisco - I laughed bc I was looking on the student claims and they're all in Care of Magical Creatures together - and they are in fact, currently the ONLY four people in Care of Magical Creatures. This is hilarious to me for some reason, and now I need a thread of all of them in this class together.
Paisley B. Corner && Tobin "Toby" Hugo Younger year, but she's a prefect, and in general, Paisley has a lot of respect for her fellow prefects because she is all about order and rules and especially enforcing rules. She has a little bit of a thing about houses, and I think she probably has that stereotypical Hufflepuff ideal in her head and it's definitely the LAST house she'd have wanted to be sorted in, but I think she can appreciate that Toby might not be entirely useless like a lot of Hufflepuffs end up being (her words not mine, I promise).
I don't really have any ideas regarding Ezra A. Morris and Noah B. Wood , but if you have some inspo HIT ME UP.
Yes, all the yes. I think Dom's passion & drive is smth very important to Toby in his friends, and he's definitely up for a lot of long political discussions. Question with these two - do you think they met through wizards for a better world, or knew each other before that?
Hufflepuff boiiiizzzz. Yeah, I think these two will get on great! Toby is definitely more of a Remus Lupin brand of prefect than a Percy Weasley, but also pretty amused by his getting prefect. He's a hard worker, but doesn't see himself as having his shit all that together. Although in the context of the Hufflepuff dorm ... he does a lot better. Having Jasper and Christian George Fraser around will be so great for Toby, stopping him from taking himself + the world too seriously and getting him to lighten up a bit. Occasionally. Hopefully.
Of course these Hufflepuffs all do Care of Magical Creatures. Of course they do. Yes let's thread it!!
Respect is definitely the word for these two. Again, prefects, and so sure they'll know each other vaguely - also both hard workers academically (and not Ravenclaws at that), and I think he'll appreciate that as well. I'm not sure how well her rule-loving & Hufflepuff judging would go down if put into stark relief (again, not that kind of prefect), but Toby's definitely content to avoid drama for as long as possible w that one.
No, I'm not sure if he'd interact with Noah B. Wood or Ezra A. Morris - not a potions fan and can't see his paths crossing with a fourth year from a different house
Dominique E. Weasley && Louis Arthur Weasley // mon petit frère......je t'aime mais tu m'embêtes. (the odds that these two bitch at and with each other in french while people around them are like 'eh?' is HIGH, im just saying). dom loves her family a whole lot, and that especially applies to the family she's had to share a house with growing up. louis just tests her sometimes, and she will always love him in spite of it, but i'm sure these two have snark battles a lot.
Noah B. Wood && Louis Arthur Weasley // ok noah needs friends and they're like a year apart but i feel like these two could definitely vibe. noah is a very Aesthetic person, he has all his crystals and shit, he doesn't like to label himself and he's a very chill and calm individual with sophisticated tastes - I feel like louis will be able to get along with that. tell me your thoughts.
Ezra A. Morris && Olivia Frances Fawley // Hogwarts staff! ezra's the sort of personality that i don't think olivia would get away with not knowing him, but i'm definitely interested to hear what she would think of him. he's loud and a Lot, which i guess could put a lot of people off him - but i feel like if he realises someone doesn't like to talk themselves he's not put off by it at all, because he needs to talk enough for two people anyway.
Paisley B. Corner && Olivia Frances Fawley // olivia's got to know paisley just because of the sheer amount of time that paisley spends in the library like the absolute overachieving nerd that she is. i can't decide whether i want to make paisley be super fucking annoying to her and asking for stuff and complaining all the time or have her really respect olivia and have them academically bond~ lemme know.
also i haven't finished Viola G. Bennett yet but same year and house as Louis Arthur Weasley and as pure as viola is, we need some gay/lesbian solidarity going on on this site, and i want these two to give it to me
Post by Olivia Frances Fawley on Jun 3, 2018 21:58:20 GMT
Dominique E. Weasley && Louis Arthur Weasley // ahh, ma soeur, tu ne peux pas vivre sans moi. Louis adores Dom (he would never admit this) but also finds her absolutely infuriating. And loves to piss her off as well. Fun fun fun
Noah B. Wood && Louis Arthur Weasley // yeah i reckon these two click! Lou is a young 5th year, so they’re not that distant in age, & they have similar vibes of Not Too Bothered by things. Smol dramatique aesthetique fiftedn year old claws make sense to me
Ezra A. Morris && Olivia Frances Fawley // firstly it would be Wasteful to not make use of all the tessa/taika gifs available, so jot that down. But more importantly, Ezra is a Good Dude for Liv to hang round with. She’s not at the castle all the time, but i think when she is, someone who talks enough that she doesn’t have to is much appreciated. Would be intrigued by their early interactions tho lol
Paisley B. Corner && Olivia Frances Fawley // OOOh. my wee optimistic heart wants to say they Bond, partic as liv is an ex-slyth and her heart is thus open a little bit more to Paisley than it might be to other kids. Also she can see that paisley is in the library to Learn and not to fuck about, and respects that. Cute.
And yes yes yes re Viola G. Bennett , i have nattered to spoons about this - Louis came out young, and am guessing Vee did the same, so it seems pretty natural for them to have gravitated towards each other. Pls see Margo & Eliot off of the magicians for inspo
I love Shadowhunters. Let's just shamelessly have them be friends because of that. xD Really though, Luce would think Toby is a lovely guy, and she'd enjoy his company. He's a busy bee, but she'd snag him at WFABW meetings for a catch up, and expect him to cheer her on at Quidditch matches, because she can be a bit bossy like that. Haha
Lucy Anne Weasley ++ Louis Arthur Weasley Cousins! Lucy thinks he's hilarious, but she'd never laugh at him, only with him. She's not mean. But his high opinion of himself makes her giggle. She does agree though, that he is all that, and she's proud to call him family. Plus they're teammates on the pitch, so they get to hang out at practices, and he's definitely her favourite person to sit on and annoy in the common room. xD
This picture is adorable (and I need to catch up on shadowhunters!!). See post re relationship (maybe fun ?? lmk what you THINK) but i agree these two have to get on! Toby will reluctantly attend but faithfully cheer if encouraged.
ravenclaw cousins!!! haha i think these two could be fun, w very different priorities but probably end up spending a lot of time together? also book club + quidditch. funfunfun
@raphael ++ Tobin "Toby" Hugo Puff boy, reporting for duty! Not really, don't give him responsibilities, that's too much work. xD So Raph has no idea why Toby spreads himself so thin, and it distresses him. He encourages Tobes to chill the heck out every now and then, and take a break. Whether that works or not, I don't know. Haha They've shared a room for seven years, though, so they're bound to be great friends.
brennan probably gave him a headache with his prefect duties but that's okay xD tobin might dislike brennan because of that a bit, or at least be annoyed, but overall brennan doesn't dislike tobin. he thinks he's a pretty cool dude, just very easy to mess with lol.
brennan can appreciate louis' desire to be mostly alone, but i think maybe they've run into each other at parties. brennan would be alright with him, so maybe acquaintances? unless you think louis would find him annoying haha
there's not a ton of adults on site so i figured i'd throw corvin at you! maybe these two are drinking buddies? corvin can be annoying with his air of arrogance and pessimism, but he's actually a loyal and intelligent guy and likes to have a good time, especially with pretty ladies.
aha, i don't think Toby would be too annoyed at Brennan (he's a bit of a rogue choice for prefect), but possibly not his favourite person? Toby's not good at disliking people in general.
oo hmmm interesting. They'd bump into each other for sure - Louis might consider himself too mature for Brennan to be close friends, but sure they can get on at parties & such?
oooo. this could work - altho liv will have been working at hogwarts when corvin was there and she'd at least comment on that lmao! thoughts on how they'd start hanging out? (is corvin in london most of the time?)
