NOTE: Face claim, name, age, personality, yada yada is all up to you. These are flexible narratives and a starting point that I would love to talk to you about. For ad purposes, I am using Garrett Hedlund's face and name. I'm not attached.[break][break]
You remember the first time you saw Garrett. Your bed neighbored one of the many large windows of Ravenclaw Tower, allowing you to see the sprinted trail of smoke darting across the grounds and to the forest. Though the fire at the end of his torch was dim, it was enough to make out the tufts of unruly hair, the lazy shadow of an unshaven jaw, and the delighted grin of wicked teeth, exposed as he spun to face his comrades disappearing into the forest. They were a discarded group of Gryffindors and Slytherins, all in their seventh year.[break][break]
Only wallflowers know of wallflowers.[break][break]
You float his name to your dorm the next week, not seeing him since. Ask if they know who he is.
Who? Wait...oh, HIM? Gross. You don't ask them about him again.[break][break]
Every few nights, you see that fire trail, accompanied by the same mixed group of boys, some missing here and there but with one standard bearing the torch. The radical enthusiasm from behind his eyes, which you can sense even from your towered perch, is constant. It is many months before you have the courage to wait for them, and it takes three evenings of sitting against the cold stone of the castle before they appear to you. Even before you choose to follow them, you know that it was worth it.[break][break]
You hide among the trees from a short distance, taking care of where you place your feet so as to avoid discovery, but you follow the weathered trail they leave and have left many moons before, until ahead of you they cease their walking. It is not long before a fire is lit on the ground about them, and they use their clear voices without fear of notice. Their conversations fascinate you- they talk of their dreams, their deepest fears, their ideas and creations. They laugh on silliness, but linger on concept. A bottle of dark liquid is tossed between them, and the more it disappears, the more animated, more honest they become.[break][break]
It is an hour before a snake glides across your foot and a gasp escapes you. So used to the surrounding silence, they pause. He pauses. They are looking right at you. Though it is an option available to you, you do not consider running away. You step out from behind your many trees, exposing your espionage. They exchange glances, but they do not speak. It's many moments until a word.[break][break]
He says,
Drink this.[break][break]

HELLO, THANK YOU FOR READING MY LITTLE PARABLE. I have been headcanoning for a little while that when Niko was a fifth year,
she had her first dalliances with love and intimacy. Since she is an odd bird, what better than another odd bird to match her with. Ideally, Garrett (remember, this name is just for the ad) is the ODDEST of birds. It wouldn't surprise me if he was not only weird but a controversial character. He would have been a seventh year when Niko was a fifth year.[break][break]
The above story is just an idea, but after getting to know each other, they probably started spending more and more time together, but privately. Niko's reason for this is that she's just a private person, and growing up in a household where everyone is in each other's business, she likes to keep a low profile. His reason is up to you- one idea I have is that he doesn't necessarily want to be loyal to just her, and likes to pursue other women on the side, or at least have the option to. He could also just be a private person. WHO KNOWS. When they are together, they connect over lots of stuff- art, their passions, political ideas, debates, cigarettes, sex, you know- the usual.[break][break]
What I do know is, despite his level of affection, Niko becomes quite attached. She doesn't show this very well, because she's
Niko, but because he introduces her to so many new things and because she is attracted to his wild and strange personality and personage (and bod, let's be real), she develops some serious feelings for him. But, oh no, we've put together two people who are terrible communicators! DRAMA ALERT.[break][break]
Garrett graduates without much ceremony. They both knew that it was inevitable. Niko tried to tell herself that the majority of two years without him wasn't worth waiting for. How Garrett feels is up to you- he could not be as attached to her and not think it's a big deal, or he could think that she doesn't care about him as much as she does because she's terrible at expressing herself.[break][break]
How this all plays out is up in the air. I'm just looking for a juicy plot for Niko for fun. Here are some ideas that just came to my head that I'll throw out there- He could work at an off-beat shop in Hogsmeade and they run into each other periodically that way. I imagine they'll owl, but maybe only here and there, or maybe every day! He could have not cared about her at all in school and only now is starting to really miss her. He could still not care about her at all but still wants to bone. IT'S OPEN, Y'ALL![break][break]
If you have ideas, just toss them my way. This is a skeleton and these two are not necessarily future/final- I'm open to hear and think about everything! XOXO Jiggy
