She's up at 4.30am as normal, makes a smoothie and is out of the house by 5. She runs 6 miles mostly along the river and then loops round a further 2 up to the office. 8-mile standard, and she's in by 6.30am, including picking up some breakfast. There are shower facilities in the office, something she insisted upon - available to everybody although honestly she's not sure anyone else ever uses them.
By 8am she's sat at her desk responding to emails at a ferocious force. If her inbox isn't cleared by 9 she has no chance of clearing it all day. She sits back in her chair as she takes a sip of her coffee, staring out at the view over a moment of pure peace. Yeah, this is
exactly where she wants to be.

Lisa Deanna King has always been determined. She'd always known it was her destiny to manage people - and products, to an extent - not just be left to her own devices. Despite the rumours, she's a people person. Just only if you're one of
her people. If you want to fight her in a meeting, have facts, back yourself up. She
will be stubborn. She
will be ruthless.
But if you're on her team - she's got your back. If you want to voice an idea she's more than willing to listen. If you're having a hard time, let her know and she'll cut you some slack. Hell, she'll even take you for a coffee to get you out the office for a bit if you need it. She's not a monster. Well, not to some people.

The issues come when someone was on one-side of the barrier, and then ends up on the other. Usually this comes when somebody moves from a different department to under her branch, and honestly she understands it can be a struggle to go from thinking someone fornicates with the devil to living in a reality where they're the one keeping the biscuit barrel filled up. She gets that.
But working with her ex-husband? Why did she
ever think that was a good idea?
She finds herself running twice the length in the mornings. Its actually concerning she's practically training for a marathon without, y'know, actually training to run a marathon. She just has all this tension that she needs to get out.
And then she starts sleeping with him again.
She refuses his offer to move back into their old home. She has her own space now and she
needs that, but on some level she does truly believe that they're meant to be together. They have all this history and its just nice to go out to dinner with someone and chat idly after work without having to do all the legwork of having to get to know them. She's tired of tinder dates. The familiarity is nice.
Inevitably, they start fighting again. It was the base reason behind their divorce so she's not sure why she's even surprised. She needs someone who'll fight back and not take things to heart. Especially when he's the one who's provoked her. Fighting can be fun, it can be playfully antagonistic. It doesn't have to be
mean.

She first reads of Valentino Rosier-Rowle when he hits the European Forbes 30 Under 30 list. His stats are highly impressive, even when they're manipulated to hide the truth from the muggles. The lucky thing about the entrepreneur's section is no one reads into these people too deeply. No one expects to be able to recognise them. That's how you can end up on it as a magical person.
And with a name like that, he's definitely magical.
Its hit the point where she wouldn't recognise any names in the list from school, and she takes a brief moment to acknowledge the fact she's getting older before getting the fuck over it. She starts to research him instantly.
She's spent so long in the muggle world at this point she doesn't even realise the magical world has something akin to mobile phones, let alone actually comparable in stats. Don't get her wrong she still uses magic, just mostly aimlessly and not for any actual purpose. These days she'd be more than useless in a duel...
Yeah, these quiv things definitely require some research. And proper office situations appearing in the wizarding world outside of the ministry? Well, that definitely gives her options.

When it comes down to it, her overriding emotion when she walks in on her partner/colleague/ex-fucking-husband bent over a desk with his secretary stood behind him isn't anger. It isn't disbelief. It isn't even sorrow.
Its pure relief. Its the excuse she's been looking for.
She turns around sharply on her heel and walks away, tapping quickly on her phone as she strides into her office. She swishes her wand to gather up all her personal affects, knowing he'll be the only one who'll dare to follow her as she's giving off this vibe.
She doesn't even talk as she turns to face him, picking up the one lone laptop bag she's managed to fit everything in (God, bless
magic, it feels good). She's unclipping the chain around her neck and sliding one of the rings off it.
"
I should have felt this way when the divorce went through, I realise, but now, now I'm finally free," she says calmly, as she hands him the plain gold band and walks passed him to the elevator. It appears instantly.
She looks him dead in the eye as the doors starts to close on them, forever, "
Oh, I'm keeping the engagement ring by the way. And, if you couldn't tell - I quit."

Lisa King walks into Quiv headquarters at 9am on a Monday morning in early 2018. She brushes past the receptionist downstairs, takes the lift to the top floor, and enters Valentino's office without invitation. When she walks out, she's a creative consultant for Hexta, Inc. She's aiming to be Creative Director within 3 months.
