The newest batch of Hogwarts students have entered this historic school and no one knows how their future will turn out - will you be a quidditch pro or maybe a prefect? The year is now 2021, and now it's time for the next generation to make their mark. The plot will be determined by the characters of the site as of now - future plots will change as these forces weigh in on the Wizarding World, and we see where these characters take us. So join in and let your character make their mark!
Minimum word count is 200.
It's time again for another site update! And that's enough preamble - let's go!
1) Hogwarts Post
Some of you may have noticed the new sub-board that's appeared in The Realm - The Hogwarts Post! This is a board where all students who are members of the Post get to publish their articles for the rest of the school to read.
This board is similar to the Sandbox in that it's not compulsory, but we thought it would be a good addition to help broaden all of our creative horizons. If your character is a writer, please feel free to use it as you'd like, whether you're just posting pieces to practice writing your characters voice or to further along plot. It is a canon board, so everything posted in there is part of the universe - and it's something every character can read, so feel free to start using it/referencing stuff in there in your threads!
You can post in here freely if your character is a member of the Post in the Student Claims - if not, your article needs to get approval from the Student Editor (a position which is currently open, so if you feel like it's a role your character would want - get on it!).
As with most new things we're implementing, we're just trying out all this to see how this goes, so if you have any feedback/ideas, please let us know!
2) Spotlight Awards
Some of you might have noticed we've changed the name of the 'Of the Month' awards to the 'Spotlight' Awards, but other than that, nothing has changed and everything all works the same - it just means it might not happen every month.
Speaking of - there's a few days left for nominations so please PM an Admin with the people/characters/threads that you want to nominate! Voting starts on 15th and winners will end up on the site header. Show your love and appreciation for your fellow RP-ers and get some noms in!
3) Rules Update/Reminder
Just a small note on an update in the rules that we've implemented/updated to make sure that we're all on the same page!
"7) Established Canon is the canon that this site runs off of - so when creating canon, oc or wanted ad characters make sure that you are following that canon. What plots/characterisations our current members have already decided on shouldn't be compromised if you're creating new characters to fit into that. If you need clarification ask either site staff or that member directly!"
We hope this clears some things up!
4) Writing Challenges!
Our wonderful Mod Jiggysnacks has started Writing Challenges in the Sandbox - they're not at all compulsory, but we thought it would be a fun way to get your creative juices flowing by having prompts that we can all write a little something for.

6) Bathroom Wall
Another new addition to site canon - The Bathroom Wall! This is a silly little fun opportunity for your characters to gossip and get downright rude and mean by reading all the juicy tidbits on the Bathroom Wall.
Anyone is free to write on it (IC) and any and all characters can read it - and it's canon! So please feel free to use this feature as you like for plotting and threads and such!
