❝ A World Where You and I Belong There's a place for us. ❞
Taya hexted Jean quickly from her flat to remind him of their spa date. It was one of the things she cherished. She might have gone through hell to get here, but money honestly wasn’t an issue anymore. She worked, of course. But it was because she wanted to. She’d accepted a ridiculously low offer from Hogwarts because she didn’t really need the money. She would have worked for free if the school let her. They claimed that for ethical reasons, she needed to be paid. She just wanted to help give back. The quiet part of her that she didn’t inspect too closely knew it was because she felt like she would be atoning for her sins for the rest of her life.
But the massages and pedicures really had nothing to do with atoning. They had everything to do with being pampered with a friend. Since Taya had such expensive tastes, she refused to allow them to pay for their spa time with her. She covered it because she could. It honestly didn’t hurt to pay it and she loved doing it. Jean was slightly different than her other spa buddies. She didn’t have that many of them, but there were three or four. Jean was the most regular. While she would never tell him, she’d specifically sought out a masseuse specializing in amputees to come to the spa on their spa day and act like she worked there. Jean needed a professional and she doubted he would pay it. Since she hated seeing him suffer and because she loved seeing the relief it brought him, she played up her need for spa days an massages so he could get a massage without feeling like a burden. He would never. Ever. Find out about this. Because Taya knew her friend and she knew what he would think. She didn’t pity him like many others did. She simply saw a need and decided to fill it. Jean was a good man, though a bit unorthodox.
How many times had she hexted him or caught him during a calm spa moment to accompany her to a gala or a family dinner party or really any dinner party where someone might try to set her up with a man? She’d done the same for him on more than one occasion. It didn’t bother her that her mother sometimes owled her, wondering when Taya would bring around ‘that nice professor’. Or even subtly hit about a wedding date(the thought of getting married horrified Taya, though if she were forced to, Jean would be an ideal option). Some people surely thought they were in a relationship and she did little to discourage that line of thought because it kept away unwanted advances. He was like her safety net, alway there to be her fake boyfriend. She trusted Jean. She didn’t trust many people.
Upon arriving at Enchanted Garden Spa, she changed into the lushous fluffy robe and underthings they offered. She sat in the personal waiting area and snacked on fancy cheeses with posh little crackers as she waited for Jean to arrive and join her.

Lafayette didn't set alarms on weekends unless he absolutely had to. It was his most cardinal rule. Weekends were for pleasure, and the second greatest form of pleasure was a lie in. The first, and he was absolutely sure of this, was a spa day. Fluffy robes, hot baths, people responding to your every whim, and most of all: great company. He always had the most fun with Taya.
He'd be lying if he said her hext hadn't woken him up, but he didn't begrudge it as it lead to his favourite past time. Plus, he actually hadn't forgotten about their date this time, so his body had been expecting it - her hext was just his signal that it was his time to wiggle his way out of bed. He rolled onto his side making sure to plant his left leg firmly on the ground before he even attempted to sit up and reach for Larry (yes, he'd named his prosthetic - he'd named every one he'd ever had for as long as he could remember).
He ached a little this morning. Some days he felt it more than others, and today the pain was acute. Maybe it was psychosomatic, it being a spa day after all. He'd been feeling more stressed recently, finding students more aggravating than normal. Also maybe his body knowing he'd be feeling bliss soon enough allowed his brain to feel more pain than it usually would.
After attaching his leg, Lafayette dressed relatively quickly, just throwing on the jeans and button-up shirt that he'd worn under his robes the day before, and grabbed a blazer before reaching for the floo powder. Walking all the way out of the grounds just for the ease of apparition was just way to much effort, and the Enchanted Garden Spa had a floo connection so that was his usual method of transport on these days.
He grinned when he arrived and saw Taya, ready and waiting in the lobby. He couldn't help but bounce as he walked over to her.
"Mon cherie, delightful as ever!" He called, his inner continental soul beckoning him to greet her with a kiss on each cheek, "I must say, I'm very much looking forward to today's treats."

Teya flicked through the magazine left on the counter. Her eyes spotted the small tag on the bottom of one picture claiming the picture as being by one Mikaila Kekoa. A soft smile pulled at her lips. Her grandmother(though the woman wouldn’t be caught dead being called that) didn’t see her often, finding herself busy with different shoots for various magazines and companies.
Footsteps called her attention away from the magazine spread. “Jean! I’m so glad you made it.”She returned his smile and kisses. “As am I. I always enjoy our time here.” She offered with a soft smile. He was someone that she loved to treat. He was always grateful, especially for the massages, and he never made her feel like he expected her to pay. It wasn’t like she flaunted her fortune to him, but she was sure that he suspected something of her wealth. She might work as a Hogwarts Healer, but Enchanted Garden was hardly a budget spa. It was very much not a budget spa, sitting firmly in the title of Luxury Spa complete with Wine baths, complimentary wine, complimentary snacks, and exotic luxury items like caviare foot facials, full body clay wraps, and a variety of salt scrubs.
“Shall we?” She asked, gesturing to the side doors towards the inner rooms of the spa. They would start the day with a hair facial because Taya’s hair could honestly use it. The two were led to a warm room with ambient lighting and sat down on comfortable chairs that recline, allowing their hair to be pampered. The attendants rubbed a luscious mixture of Jojoba, avocado, argon, and coconut oil into their hair, massaging their heads delightfully. It was hard to talk through the treatment mostly because people playing with her hair made her incredibly sleepy and relaxed. As the attendants finished the application and wrapped the still oiled hair in towels to set for the next half hour, she sighed blissfully. “How’s your week been?” She asked, a soft smile on her lips.
The massage attendants entered opening a container in the room with hot stones. They requested for the two to lay on the tables to have the relaxing stones placed on their backs.

Lafayette was smiling from the second he entered the spa. He doubted he would stop until well after he left. Spending time with Taya was always a joy, and their days of luxury were one of his greatest pleasures in life if he was truly honest with himself. He loved teaching, was truly glad he'd fallen into it - but it did mean spending the majority of his time with 11-18 year olds which was just... well really not what anybody wanted to do. Talking to adult was almost a luxury in itself, and getting to do so whilst someone pressed all the knots out of his body? Even better.
He'd never admit it outloud, but wearing a prosthetic, even a magical one, wasn't particularly easy on the body. Especially not to the limb it was attached to. He found the end of his right leg ached often, and sometimes there were sores too. Luckily not often - usually only when he'd had to exert his legs more strenuously than normal. Or sometimes when the weather was more extreme than usual in Britian's normally mild climate.
"We shall!" Lafayette replied, following her to the treatment rooms with a slight skip in his step. His leg may be his excuse, but he would never protest starting on the other end of his body and working his way down. His hair was unruly at best and he mostly kept it tied up in a bunch on his head, so it deserved a little TLC. It was common for him and Taya to start their day with this treatment. Full relaxation. Few words. They were always happy in each other's company though and there'd be plenty of time to chat as the day progressed.
When the attendants had finished and left them alone, Taya was the first to speak. "Well there was one practical incident..." he turned to face her with a grin, "I'm not quite sure how but a child became a teapot. So that was fun." Lafayette honestly couldn't help but laugh, the third year had been white as porcelain still when they'd returned to human form and it had gone straight into the Professor's group chat, "How about you? Anything exciting?"
The attendants coming back in then definitely perked his interest, and he sat on the table to remove Larry before lying down on the table to wait for familiar pressure of hot stones to sink through his skin.

Taya laughed once at his story. “Oh. Just the norm. Kids trying to get out of classes. Boys feigning injuries.” She rolled her eyes and laid back as he took off his leg. She loved the spa. The whole experience tended to last two hours. Two hours of bliss. The attendants finished as they quietly lay on the tables enjoying the experience. The hot stones were followed by an hour of massages, the attendant massaging Jean being an expert in amputee massage therapy. Taya relaxed, drifting as she enjoyed the massage. After, they moved to the sauna to continue the chat they’d let fall into silence while being massaged. A thought kept pestering her. One she pushed away just as she had many times before.
Taya fidgeted. She'd thought about this in dark times but never had the courage to say anything. It involved sharing a bit of her past. It involved opening up to him, a man, more than she'd opened to almost anyone. Her mouth opened to speak but no words came for a time. "I trust you. I want you to know that before i ask you this." Merlin. This was going to be hard. "It's weird and you can say no. I understand if you do. I think most people would." She could already feel the flush creeping into her cheeks, making her feel warmer than the sauna accounted for. "I was pregnant once.." she swallowed hard, her eyes dropping to her hands. "I want to be a mom. More than anything." She had to say it. The other part. The embarrassing part. "I wouldn't trust anyone else but… would you think about… helping me. Get... " it was worse than she'd ever imagined but her mouth just kept rambling. "Pregnant. I mean. We don't have to. You know. You could just. Um." Donate? What. The. Ever living. Hell. Her face flushed, burning as though on fire. Her hands covered her mortified expression and the crimson blush that painted it. "Never mind. I can't… Just pretend I said nothing. This sounded less terrible in my head. Can I get my wand and just obliviate that from your memory?" Obliviating ones memory was something she would never do. Their memories were their own. But damn. This was one time she thought it would make things better.
