χ August → Emmeline Vance learns to crawl.
χ September → Benjamin Callum Vance learns to roll where he wants to go
χ November → Emmeline Vance learns to walk; a week later, says her first word: “fuk!”
χ December → Benjamin Callum Vance says his first word, “No.”


1962
χ January → Benjamin Callum Vance and Emmeline turn 1.
χ May → Emmeline learns how to pull Benjamin Callum Vance around on a blanket
χ June → Benjamin Callum Vance learns to walk. Still has Emmeline pull him around.
χ August → Benjamin Callum Vance learns his second word, “why?” Proceeds to annoy everyone. Emmeline speaks in roundabout sentences.
χ October → Benjamin Callum Vance visits St. Mungo’s after Adelaide decides it’s unnerving he rarely cries and stares at everyone. Emmeline learns to dress herself.


1963
χ January → Benjamin Callum Vance and Emmeline turn 2.
χ March → Emmeline learns how to follow directions. Benjamin Callum Vance learns how to do the opposite.
χ July → Benjamin Callum Vance refuses to run after Emmeline. Prefers to sit in one spot and sleep.
χ August → Benjamin Callum Vance gets pushed on the playground and discovers dirt does not taste good. Emmeline learns to push people.
χ October → In exchange for learning how to read, Benjamin Callum Vance agrees to speak more often instead of letting Emmeline speak for him.
χ November → Adelaide and Sterling regret reading lessons for Benjamin Callum Vance and Emmeline.


1964
χ January → Benjamin Callum Vance and Emmeline turn 3.
χ May → Benjamin Callum Vance attaches himself to Adelaide and refuses to follow everyone else around. Emmeline learns to share.
χ June → Benjamin Callum Vance keeps everything to himself. Finds weird hiding places for everything that only Emmeline can figure out. They “write” notes to each other.
χ July → Benjamin Callum Vance tells all the parents at the park puns instead of playing. Dahlia Fawcett brings Michael and his siblings to the park. Emmeline and Michael play tag.
χ August → Benjamin Callum Vance throws stuff at Michael and declares Emmeline his.
χ September → Benjamin Callum Vance makes his first friend, Stephan Davis. They bond when Stephan accidentally runs him over with his broom.
χ October → Stephan and Michael become friends, forcing Benjamin Callum Vance and Michael to become friends. Emmeline makes them play make-believe Quidditch stars.
χ December → The quad celebrates Yuletide. Benjamin Callum Vance gets Adelaide to give everyone personalized socks.


1965
χ January → Benjamin Callum Vance and Emmeline turn 4.
χ April → Emmeline prefers to play with other children. Benjamin Callum Vance would rather read.
χ May → Benjamin Callum Vance begs to learn to play guitar. Emmeline prefers to sing.
χ June → Benjamin Callum Vance discovers new hiding spots to hide from Emmeline singing.
χ July → Sterling enrolls Benjamin Callum Vance and Emmeline into Fawcett Ere Wizarding School.
χ September → Benjamin Callum Vance ruins a story for Emmeline. She hits him with a broom and he spends an hour in St. Mungo’s.
χ October → Benjamin Callum Vance ruthlessly beats people at board games. Decides to make his own rules. Michael is the only one who can follow along with the constant rule changes. Emmeline threatens to bury Ben in pillows.


1971
χ January → Benjamin Callum Vance and Emmeline turn 10.
χ May → Penelope Vance turns 11. Promptly gets into a fight with Emmeline.
χ August → Benjamin Callum Vance displays his first signs of magic. Snaps the strings of his guitar and throws it, breaking it. The guitar bounces off the ground and repairs itself.


1972
χ January → Benjamin Callum Vance and Emmeline turn 11.
χ April → All three Vance siblings receive their Hogwarts letters. Emmeline immediately owls Michael and Stephan to ask about theirs.
χ May → Benjamin Callum Vance and Emmeline go with Stephan to shop for their Hogwarts supplies. Ben buys a bunch of extra books and begrudgingly shares with his friends.
χ September 1st → The Vance siblings wave goodbye to their parents from the Hogwarts Express. Benjamin Callum Vance is sorted, first, into Ravenclaw. Emmeline is sorted into Gryffindor. Ben sits next to Michael and Stephan.
χ September 2nd → Benjamin Callum Vance wakes up from a weird nightmare about being separated from Emmeline. Makes an effort to sit next to her in class whenever he can.
χ October 16th → Benjamin Callum Vance befriends Echo Everwood during flying class when he rolls off the broom and accidentally onto her.
χ November 11th → Benjamin Callum Vance accidentally makes an enemy out of Finley Avery. Gets saved from a duel by Sawyer Flossier. Befriends her and starts spending a bunch of time with her. Considers getting to see Emmeline a bonus.
