-compassionate: his parents raised him with a gentle hand, you know, to better take care of the various creatures around their home. they instilled a pure drive in him to do something with his time on the planet, and often that is helping others. - curious: there is one thing he has definitely inherited from his parents: his devastating good looks the desire to know what's out there in the world, how it works, and how other people see it. - intelligent: he catches on quick. he catches on a lot. it shows in his test grades(though not necessarily in class) that he's smart, but lorcan also has learned a lot about why people act the way they do. - optimistic: almost blindly, there's no real reason why he shouldn't be, in his opinion. of course, there are bad things he will face, but lorcan knows things will be stable or even better in the end.
LIKES
- bowtruckles - quidditch - hiking at sunrise - muggle music festivals - comfortable silences - dogs - dancing alone in large spaces. - flying - latin music - helping his friends
DISLIKES
- missing seeing something interesting - sore losers - long lectures - his quirkiness being compared to his mother's - being rushed - not being able to sleep at night - sleeping in classes - lying - pudding - people mixing him up with Lysander
NEGATIVE
- reserved/distant: not so that he won't sit or interact with others, in fact lorcan has a lot of friends so he's often found with someone else.in fact, lorcan can be quite loud. but lorcan doesn't like to talk about his emotions, problems, or most of his private life much. he's more so concerned how your day has been, or if it was really nargles who poured potion residue on his shoes. - single-minded: as much as he'd like to be good at multitasking, he's not. lorcan can't work through stress well, he has to be calm. he's also never been good at having a crush AND good grades at the time. but at least he REALLY focuses on whatever he's doing. - nonconfrontational: more so towards humans than creatures, lorcan isn't fond of confrontation just because he thinks there's a way to solve problems otherwise, like asking someone else do tell that group member to pick up the slack. to him, if he just goes with the flow then surely everything will work out, right? - tactless/blunt: do not come to him to make sneaky plans, do not ask him to use charisma and sweep someone off of their feet- lorcan is just as awkward as his grandfather and in his own language most of the time. he’s incredibly friendly but can’t twist and filter his words well.
The Scamander's house has a great big yard. It is closer to a garden than a lawn, really. Why suppress nature, right? Your parents are more fond of travelling, since it's much more informative to observe creatures in their natural environment, but you have plenty of memories at home with your family and all your pet kneazles.
Dorset is a vast place, and your cries get lost in it. Luna encourages exploring and finding the answers to Lorcan's stupid questions, but then he didn't know how to find his way back.
Something meows in the dark. "MOM!"
Meow.
It's Hoppy. They prowl closer with their slow-but-surely-graying fur bouncing on their back, rubbing against your knee before walking away again. And you follow.
When you get home, your mom is there to open the door. She simply told you to come home earlier, something that your dad very loudly disagreed with, and your grandfather snickered and thus left the room to avoid confrontation. Your ad got you straight to bed and told you that was very dangerous what you did, but that he was glad you were safe and should be very grateful to Hoppy.
