Lucy was born into a rather busy and somewhat famous family. As a Weasley, she never lacked company during her childhood, and though she only had one older sister, she felt like she had at least ten siblings, her cousins being quite prominent in her life. Her dad was on the stuffy side, and her mum was unremarkable, but Lucy loved them, even if she did find herself the odd one out in the family. She was always more vibrant than her father liked, more outspoken, more eager to jump into potentially dangerous situations (as if she hadn't thought out every outcome beforehand. Sheesh.) than her cautious, calculated father wanted her to be. She craved life from a young age, and chased any new experience with great enthusiasm. She was always a smart little girl, her nose stuck in books, her head in the clouds, and her feet slamming into the ground as she sprinted through life with a smile on her face.
Her first show of magic came at the age of five, when Lucy, with her hair trailing down her back as she flew on her little toy broom, crashed into a bush and got herself very, very tangled. Well, that's what she got for not looking where she was going, her father had told her afterwards, but he couldn't hide how impressed he was at how she had gotten herself free. There had been no grown ups around to help her, and Molly had just laughed and laughed at her little sister stuck in a bush. Lucy had gotten so angry and frustrated that the bush simply disintegrated around her, and crumbled to dust on the ground. That had shut Molly up, and it had made Lucy cry, since she hadn't been expecting it and had gotten quite the shock at her own display of magic, along with the sudden plop to the ground. She was marginally more careful after that, for at least two weeks.
At Hogwarts, she was sorted into Ravenclaw, which was another shock to the system, as she'd expected to be a Gryffindor like the majority of her family. She accepted it, taking it as a compliment that she was far more intelligent than her sister and cousins, and honestly, it suited her. She loved to learn and soaked up new information like a sponge, getting O's with ease in most of her lessons and finding that she enjoyed helping younger students out if they needed tutoring. She made friends without much trouble, though she did rub some people up the wrong way with her opinionated nature. Lucy always found it hard to hold her tongue, and she very much thought that it was pointless to hide how you were feeling from people, and so putting her foot in her mouth occurred daily for her. Her friends saw it as part of her charm, and liked her honesty and openness, everyone else either kept their distance, or became regular opponents in verbal sparring matches with her. She's now in her sixth year at the castle, and is a Chaser on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team, and doing great in classes.
