On the outside, Artemis appears as a warm ray of sunshine on a dreary day. Her smile is infectious, her touch comforting and welcoming. She is as likely to make up a song on the spot as she is to laugh, which is often, and she goes from being vivacious and spritely one minute to mellow and breezy the next. Her boisterous nature will either attract or repel those around her; there is no middle ground, and she is unapologetic in her mannerisms and habits. She carries a set of oil paints and a small mint tin with her wherever she goes, and her current project is to paint one mini painting a day. She says she likes the challenge; likes the routine.
On the inside, Artemis is miserable most days. For her, being creative isn’t a strength, it’s a weakness. Her head storms with so many thoughts and colours and ideas that she doesn’t get a single quiet moment to herself unless she unleashes the chaos, and creates; only there, in the eye of the storm, can she calm herself enough to breathe. She wears her heart on her sleeve forever and always, because for her, there is no other way to live. There is one mode for Artemis, and it’s always on, and it’s always exhausting. When the day is over and it’s time to climb into bed, Artemis cannot sleep. She is raw and vulnerable and awake and her mind is never still. There is never time to rest, only time to create.
It wasn’t always like this. When she was a kid, creating was something she did with her family as a way to wind down from a hectic day, something to bond over, something of which she could be proud. But the pressures of school, not to mention the fun-filled adventure time called puberty, served only to muddy everything. And then there was Harry’s accident…
Suddenly her imperfections became more glaring, more obvious, and it took everything in her power to keep herself from getting stuck in whirlpools of self-doubt and self-hatred. The only thing that helped was to create; barring that, being surrounded by people, by their energy and ideas and words, was the next best thing. Because when everything around you is swirling and storming so fast, you forget how bad it is in your own head.
You know. Typical teenager stuff.

colour pallet.
Friends, enemies, lovers… I will be documenting her relationships here.
missing colours ⇝ roles to fill in the cast of characters that make up Artemis' life. [ ] indicates restrictions
☽ bestie blue ☾[ ♀ ] [ Ravenclaw ] Someone with whom Artemis can share all her dreams, secrets, and bad puns. This Character is preferably in the same house and year, and also female. A girl needs her late-night girl time yo
☽ en plein air purple ☾ This Character loves to paint almost as much as Artemis does. They spend long, lazy afternoons together, painting whatever fancies them at any given moment. Sometimes it's the lake. Sometimes it's each other. Sometimes it's nothing at all. Whatever it is, they enjoy each other's company and the long, comfortable silences creating entails.
☽ study buddy yellow ☾ Artemis is only barely passing her classes this year, and has decided to enlist the help of another student to keep her on track. Only problem is she's rarely up before noon if she doesn't have to be, and she would rather be painting than studying. This Character can be any gender, age, and from any house. Good luck. You're going to need it.
☽ stargazer red ☾ If Artemis could spend all night in the Astronomy tower watching the stars, she would. This Character shares her love of everything space, and they often sneak out after dark, blankets and hot chocolates in hand, to point upwards and whisper about constellations and galaxies and far-away worlds.

warms ⇝ friendships, acquaintances, and well-wishers.
Artemis is boisterous, possessive, and unapologetic in her habits and mannerisms. She doesn’t give a fig about what anyone says about her, but it’s mostly because she’s her own worst critic and no one gives her a harder time than she gives herself. Brutally honest and unpredictable, she’s the kind of girl you either love being around, or can’t stand; there is no middle ground. She’s a natural night owl, coming alive when the sun goes down and most everyone else is snuggling in for the night. Her activities include stargazing, painting miniature landscapes in mint tins, talking to owls, and singing in the bath. If you think you can handle being around someone who will tell you that your breath stinks, sneak-paint random portraits of you when you’re not looking, or punch you when you try to wake her up before noon, then by damn, do I have the friend for you!

cools ⇝ annoyances and irritants.
Artemis tells it like it is and isn’t afraid to have a good time--whether the people around her want her to or not. She’s chaotically creative and doesn’t pay much attention to where she puts her things, which means she’s always losing her quills and ink and pretty much everything you need to attend class, but don’t worry, she’ll probably just ask to borrow yours. Again. The same reasons some people love her are the same reasons other people can’t stand her. Just SHUT UP FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP SINGING ALREADY

metallics ⇝ significant others, lovers, crushes.
At 17 years old, Artemis has never take a lover. She’s exhausted by daily life, by a mind that is never still; the thought of giving herself even further only serves to fill her with dread. Burdened with a possessive heart and a penchant for jealousy, Artemis knows better than to get involved with someone who would undoubtedly only bring out the worst in her.
rose weasley loves to paint, too! it's not all she does with her spare time, but she does really enjoy it. when she got into the accident last year with the whomping willow and was injured for months, she painted a whole lot. i feel like these two would connect over that! plus, rose probably thinks artemis is really sweet, in an annoying sort of way haha.
brennan probably can't stand her, honestly lol. her disorganization would drive him nuts and he would most likely think she's super weird so definitely a dislike/distance thing with them. they are the same year so they may share some classes, but that's almost all of the interaction they would probably have.
yass painting frands! sounds like they'd get along great for the most part, even if they get on each other's nerves once in a while. they'd probably have a favourite painting spot (or five), some private and some not-so-private. i'm thinking the owlery for sure, and the edge of the forbidden forest too. maybe somewhere inside as well, like a disused passageway or something? what were rose's injuries like? was she able to get around, or was she bedridden?
they're both runners too so maybe they go together sometimes? artemis is a night owl and usually runs at sunset but she could be convinced (read: bribed with candy) to run earlier :3
as the children of hermione granger/ron weasley and luna lovegood, i imagine rose and artemis would have had some adventures growing up, too!
☽@brennan & artemis☾
i love it. they don't have much in common other than being in the same year so yeah, i can't see a lot of interaction besides classes. i'd love to see them paired up in potions or something, mostly because she's so awful at it and he's rather good, but also because watching her annoy him would just be great
